I hope to get rid of my Pontiac Grand AM security light problem with this! The security light is stuck "on". The dealer charged me $425 about 4 years ago to fix this once. Now the light is back on. Everything you need is included to code this ignition lock to your key. I coded it in about an hour, while teaching my son how to do it too. There are no vehicle keys included. There are plenty of tumbler pins, springs, lock lube, for you to assemble and match up to your current key. Do it yourself and save $$ or take this set to a locksmith. Tweezers are recommended for tumbler pin installation. Also included with this item is the "Cylinder" or the part the ignition lock goes into. This cylinder contains the PassKey resistor chip. I made the mistake of ordering a Lock Cylinder (Dorman 924-702) also because I did not pay attention to this parts picture. I assumed the cylinder was not included. Wrong, the cylinder is included with this ACDelco part. The 924-702 cylinder part was a visual exact match for the ACDelco part, but I had to return it because I did not need 2 of them. This was my ordering mistake.
I paired this ACDelco D1493F with ACDelco D1432D for a complete ignition overhaul. Hey, If I'm in there to replace the other parts, I'm doing this on too. Still way cheaper than a dealer replacement.
