(More customer reviews)My 2001 Silverado truck's check engine light came on so I went to a local auto parts store to pull the diagnostic code and get the possible causes. The code pulled was 0446 - Evaporative emission performance. I went through the list of possibe causes and checked the components starting with, looking for damaged vacuum hoses or loose vacuum hose connections, then checking the evap canister vent valve and the evap canister purge valve. This was done by applying 12 volts from the battery to the valves solinoid coil and see if the valve ports opened or closed by blowing into the ports. Both valves checked out good. I had reset the check engine light each time after checking each component. The check engine light would come on again after about 3 days. Last item on the list of possible causes was a plugged evap canister. I removed the hoses that went to it and blew into the canister ports and it didn't seem to be plugged but since the other checks proved negative I figured it still might not be free flowing. So I replaced it with this exact replacement vapor canister and reset the check engine light. The light has not come on in over a month.
