I separated the actuator from the cam and put it on the cam already in my car. This saved me hundreds of dollars in labor. It's not a fun job but it is worth it. The hardest part is getting to the old actuator. You don't have to take apart the entire dash. You can get at it from below. Check Cadillac forums for instructions.
